Marc revives treasured memories held within vintage photographs. He masterfully transforms moments from the past into exquisite, portraits in charcoal, chalk, or oil. Each piece of art captures the very soul of the original, preserving its emotion, detail, and timeless charm.
A World of Scenery and Stillness
While traveling throughout the central plains and beyond, Marc finds inspiration in the unique light and vast, open landscapes. He often begins his process by painting en plein air, directly capturing the immediate atmosphere and colors of the scene. Back in his Wichita, Kansas studio, these initial studies evolve into a completed collection of oil paintings and drawings, where different techniques are explored and applied to bring each landscape or still life to vivid life. The result is a body of work that beautifully fuses on-location observation with detailed studio craftsmanship.
