As the old expression goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, four of Marc’s sunflower oil paintings eloquently depicts the Life of a Sunflower!
Oftentimes we see artwork and photos of large commercial sunflower fields. Marc chose to draw and paint individual sunflowers, focusing on the mammoth single blooms as well as multiple blooms on single stalks.
Each summer we grow sunflowers in our small garden in Kansas. It has become a morning and evening ritual to take pictures of them, amazed at their daily growth. Finches, bees, and yellow lady bugs are just some of the interesting critters attracted to these humble yet noble flowers. After the weather warms up, we’ll be posting pics and stories of our garden as it grows.
